The Science of Learning and Behavior meets Classical Training in this polework and jumping clinic
Find a secure jumping position and feel confident over fences (even if you have never jumped before!). In this course with Equine Behavior PhD, Show Jumping and Dressage coach, Angelo Telatin, you and your horse will be set up for jumping success with progressive grid exercises.
These exercises will teach you the right balance for approaching a jump, how to allow your horse to jump freely (without getting in the way), how to recover easily from a bad jump, and how to prevent refusals or runouts (as well as retrain a horse who has these habits).
Even if you are not a jumper, Angelo’s exercises are adaptable to every level. He is known for teaching to each individual student and their learning style, helping you overcome old habits and truly feel the best position of your body and the true balance of the horse.
Saturday, April 30th – Sunday, May 1st
Get hands on help in your riding to finally feel at ease and in sync with your horse.
In the Effortless Rider clinic, work with Anatomy and Biomechanics expert and Feldenkrais instructor Wendy Murdoch. With Wendy’s hands on exercises, you will feel the small shifts that will completely change your riding.
Discover your own patterns on her famous “balance trail”, and through riding Joker, the spring horse.
Then take these into your riding sessions to feel how to sit in balance with no effort, exactly how your leg needs to hang for easy leg cues, and how to correctly move with the motion of walk, trot, and canter.
Wendy will give you unique, personal exercises to overcome any injuries, limitations, and to change your habits (even ones you have had for years!)
Saturday, June 4th and Sunday June 5th
Learn how to connect with your animals in a completely new way.
Begin this beautiful journey by learning to enhance your own life’s energy and that of others with Reiki, (pronounced ray-key). Reiki energy attunes us to its pure loving light that flows infinitely to us and through us, guiding our lives towards greater joy and connection.
The next powerful step becomes when we learn to share Reiki with our animals. In sharing this beautiful energy of pure love, we form a bond that moves beyond the human-animal connection to become heart to heart, soul to soul. It becomes a deeply healing experience for the student between them and the animal kingdom. Learn to connect with your animals in a completely new way.
Join Rose O'Connor, Reiki Master teacher, as she guides you along this beautiful journey with your animals.
9am-6pm each day.
Note you do need to have taken Reiki Level One and Two (prerequisite to Animal Reiki) Please contact Rose with questions.

At Honey Brook Stables, we emphasize giving our horses plenty of turnout in large fields that are not overgrazed.
Our stalls are large and roomy, and kept clean and dry with pine shavings. We advise safe feeding practices, with a basis in lots of forage, and work with our owners to be sure that each horse has his individual needs met.
At Honey Brook Stables, we specialize in starting young horses the right way and working through behavior issues with “problem horses.”
The Honey Brook Stables training program is unique because we offer several training packages, to fit the needs of you and your horse. Packages are designed to help you follow along with training, so you and your horse can work together and continue to progress.
During your Private Intensive, you will be working with our local instructor, Kaitlyn McGarvey, and our stellar group of school horses, with each horse carefully chosen to help solve a specific problem you’ve been having or teach the skill you need for the next level of riding.
Grey Molly has been a character since she came into our lives as a yearling. She is known for always finding the dirtiest spots to roll, and showing off that dirt on her grey coat.
Grey Molly is a favorite of students for learning canter and is a big solid TB/ Percheron cross who carries all riders.
Ellie was a homebred surprise of Callie’s Uncle. He bought Ellie’s dam at an auction and a few months later – surprise! Ellie arrived.
Ellie learned to carry a rider, pull a cart, and jump courses before coming to Honey Brook Stables to join our lesson program. She has a wonderful temperament and has been compared to riding a couch!
Ace is a special guy. He has been part of our family for 20 years. Ace is a Kentucky Mountain Horse, a gaited breed, although he trots, gaits, paces, canters, and jumps with lesson students.
He may have the smoothest canter in the barn and is a little guy, so carries our small adults and child riders.
Henry was a star in the fox hunting fields before becoming one of our school horses.
He is a Thoroughbred off the track who excelled despite numerous physical limitations throughout his life. Now, at 21, he mostly does walk/trot lessons.
Catfish came to us after many years as a camp horse. Catfish is a solid little Quarter Horse who walks, trots, canters, jumps crossrails, and trail rides. He is level headed but likes to go!
He loves to connect and just hang out in the field too.
Sergeant helps our students with practicing bending, lateral work, and the ability to keep a horse a frame.
He loves riders who don’t mind going slow and giving him time to get comfortable, but will try very hard to do whatever he is asked.
Bella is a stocky mare who works hard, and is steady and kind.
She challenges her rider to help her keep a steady frame and really teaches her riders to feel the subtle difference that good balance and self carriage make in movement!
Rocky may be the smallest of our group, but he has one of the biggest personalities.
Always on the move and aware of everything, Rocky teaches our child riders to stay focused and patient in the saddle, and is a favorite of adult students for groundwork and liberty lessons.
Ruger is one of our most talented jumpers, as well as a beautiful mover.
A flashy red roan, he is always a favorite and works hard no matter what he is asked.
Rumba used to be a cow pony before joining the herd here.
She is quiet with easy, smooth gaits and loves a nap in the center of the arena.

Hi Kaitlyn, Thank you again for the wonderful lessons. I practiced some of the things you taught me on my lease horse today. What a difference! Everything is so much easier when I get it right. I know the horse appreciated it too! You are an excellent instructor and I can’t wait to come back for my other lessons.
As a relatively new horse owner, ...I have taken full advantage of the expertise [at Honey Brook Stables] for both myself and my horse. I take weekly lessons and have felt my riding skills improving due to the excellent instruction that I receive from Kaitlyn.
My horse, though not green, had some gaps in her education, and Kaitlyn has been doing training rides with her, with noticeable improvements.
What has been the most helpful is that Kaitlyn has been educating me to be both a better rider and trainer for my own horse.Thank you Kaitlyn for doing a very thorough, excellent job of starting both Sassy and Rose for me. I so appreciate how you patiently worked with my very green ‘babies’ and brought them along from the early days of lungeing and learning to stand at the mounting block to the more advanced sessions of walk, trot, canter. Both mares have made seamless transitions from the training period to real working conditions in the field and in Sassy’s case into a capable and reliable fox hunter.
Learning from Kaitlyn was everything that I hoped it would be. As a relatively green rider, I seemingly had a lot of “random and unconnected instructions” whirling about in my mind while riding. Kaitlyn listened to what I was currently learning, where I felt stuck, and what I hoped my next riding step might be. From this, she was able to fashion two days of adapted Q & A sessions and in-dept explanations and demonstrations of certain pre-ride activities that build the kind of connection (like In-Hand work) so important to the level of riding I hoped to achieve. Then, once I saw and understood the desired movements from the ground, I was able to achieve them while riding one of her highly- trained, and particularly well-suited, school horses. In short, Kaitlyn is that rare instructor who could meet me where I was, induce mental clarity, and then pair those “Ah Ha” mental moments with rides designed to achieve my next goal; all while instilling greater confidence in me as a rider and horsewoman. Thank you, Kaitlyn and CRK Training!
