The Masterson Method is an interactive method of bodywork in which the horse participates in the process.
Learning to read what the horse’s body is telling you allows you to find where in the body tension has accumulated, how much – or little – pressure is needed to release it, and when the tension has been released.
The results are visible signs from the horse as it releases tension during the bodywork, an improvement in movement and performance in the horse after the bodywork, and a new level of communication and trust that is developed with the horse overall.
Jim Masterson, who was an equine massage therapist for the 2006 through 2014 USET Endurance Teams and equine clientele competing in FEI World Cup, Pan American and World Games competitions, teaches a unique method of equine bodywork in which the practitioner learns to read and follow the responses of the horse to touch to help the horse release tension in key junctions of the body that most affect performance.

The Beyond Horse Massage Weekend Seminar is a workshop for horse owners, trainers and massage therapists.
During the weekend you will learn what responses to look for, what basic levels of pressure – or non-pressure – to use, and hands-on instruction in bodywork techniques that cover the body from head to tail, including key junctions of the body that most affect performance.
The most important and valuable things you’ll learn during this seminar will be from the horse himself – how to listen, read, and understand their most subtle responses.
