Riding Together Through the Years

Hosted By Andrea Wady
I am 77 years old and have been struggling with the "age" thing on many levels...not just with horses and riding. I am almost in tears now since these 3 webinars....helping me to put things in a different perspective. I feel so much better emotionally and mentally. And I am revising or formulating a new plan moving forward. I really feel that I belong finally.

All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you. For us older riders, you are providing a "safe" landing and a way to ensure that our wisdom is passed along.
Alice Ornstein Billings

Are you feeling the passing of time?

Maybe feeling a bit left behind or forgotten in an industry that seems to reward a “just stick it out” and “get back on the horse” kind of attitude?

Are you ready to reignite your life with horses? To embrace the wisdom of your age?

Whether you are a lifelong rider, coming back to horses, or just starting this new adventure, we welcome you.

We invite YOU to the WISE Riders Club.

Together, we seek learning, growth and camaraderie, learning from the best in the industry who also understand the unique challenges of growing older.

They are people who are still thriving with horses.

We ask the pointed questions about how they do it, what has changed for them, and what wisdom they have to share.

For 12 months immerse yourself with us in this learning, tailored just for older equestrians, in a series of webinars by the horse world’s leading teachers, visionaries and advocates, who all share something in common with us! They are all over 50.

Join our club’s webinar guests Stephanie Burns, Warwick Schiller, Karen Rohlf, David Lichman, George Brauneis, Jim Masterson, Kate Fenner, Letitia Glenn and many more as they share their stories, lessons and inspiration for thriving with horses in later life.

With the WISE Riders Club and Mentors, we help to keep you riding through the years feeling safe, inspired, and educated.

We support you in creating a life with horses that is right for you, whilst surrendering the parts that just don’t fit anymore, without shame or regret.

Don’t feel like the equine industry is leaving you behind, help us reinvent it!

It is time for us

WISE Riders to unite.

Are you ready?
Come with me on a journey…
Embrace change,
Feel strong and capable,
Trust ourselves again,
and ride smarter.

All the while learning alongside our magnificent horses. It is time to come together and thrive in our life with horses.

I invite you to join us, the WISE Riders Club

for 12 months of learning through webinars with the world's leading teachers.

Join us to expand, reinvent and bring back the joy to your equestrian life.

The webinar was fantastic and so needed . Took a lot away from it, especially the values and why I have horses. As an isolated horse owner with no real community and a constant feel of not being enough, not doing all the things others are doing it was a relief.

Here is what WISE Riders Includes:

The Webinar Series

In our once per month webinar series, we will bring together the world’s leading lights in the world of horses.

All will have the unique perspective of being in the later chapters of their life.

Only in WISE Riders will we ask them the direct questions about aging, how their life with horses has changed, the lessons they have learned and the advice they have for others.

Here are several of our speakers, past and future.

Dr. Stephanie Burns

One of the leading academic lights in the world of adult behavior and learning. Her groundbreaking book “Move closer, stay longer” was how I met Stephanie and I have been inspired by her teachings ever since. Her latest book “The dangerous cultural messages of getting older” made her a perfect fit to kick off our 12 month program. Pay attention, this lady can change how you view your world.

Warwick Schiller

Warwick is known in the horsemanship world for his brilliance with difficult horses and for training horses to an incredibly high standard. But what has always drawn me to him is his openness and honesty about his own journey with horses. His podcast is one of the most ground breaking in the industry. He has been on a journey himself and I can’t wait for him to share it with you.

Karen Rohlf

There is no better educator of biomechanics and how a horse needs to move to carry a rider in balance than Karen. Not only that, but she does so from a behavioral point of view. From training for the Olympics to rethinking how she worked with horses, she is the founder of Dressage Naturally and is an incredibly inspiring teacher.

Dr. Kate Fenner

An equine scientist with a PhD in equine behavior, Dr. Fenner is a lecturer at the University of Sydney. Her passion is to inspire and educate people to train their own horses. We met recently and talked each other’s ears off. She is going to inspire you to have a lick and chew and think about how we train our horses.

Linda Parelli

Linda Parelli is co-founder of Happy Horse Happy Life, Parelli Natural Horsemanship and Pegasus Personal Growth, a dynamic public speaker, and the author of numerous articles, books, courses, DVDs, self-development and equestrian programs including her new Happy Horse training program, How to Talk Horse.

George Brauneis

He is my hero. Raised in Colorado George was surrounded by animals, but as an adult felt he was not as connected to them as he was as a child. This led him on an incredible journey training with many different equine educators and honing his artform. Now using his own unique form of training based in the art of Qi Gong he is changing the lives of wild mustangs and he might just change yours too.

Jim Masterson

On a daily basis Jim’s body work heals horses. “The Masterson Method” is well known around the world, through his books, clinics and online courses. Just 5 mins a day can transform your relationship with your horses. However, it’s Jim’s story that fascinates me, he has the best stories of growing up with different animals and his brilliant mindset towards life is something worth listening too.

David Lichman

I can easily say if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be where I am now. Many of you might know him from his liberty work with multiple horses, or from my book Crossing Bridges. He was also a World Grand champion in the world of the gaited horses and has been an advocate for the welfare and increased standards in the showing world. We will be talking life lessons with horses, how to keep striving for new goals with horses and how age doesn’t have to be a barrier to excellence.

Letitia Glenn

Letitia is celebrating her 80th birthday next year but saddle fitting pioneer Letitia is showing no signs of slowing down.

She has dedicated her life to making sure horses and riders can be comfortable and move correctly through her experimentation and exploration of reinventing saddle fitting. We can all learn a lot from this incredible horsewomen, Saddle up!

About Your Host in Wise Riders

Hey, I’m Andrea Wady.

Life always comes in chapters. When picking up a book one hopes for an unique story, a journey that lifts you up and spins you around. That has certainly been my experience and I don’t regret a thing….nor is it over yet!

My life story with horses thus far consists of the “Show them who’s boss” chapter of my youth. This, thankfully, led to the “I thought I knew horses but I don’t” segment from my late 20’s.

The “Learn from everyone I can” phase was incredible, and naturally led me, albeit tentatively, into the “I think I might have something to share” section.

Like every good book there are adventures, twists and turns. From walking across Costa Rica with rescue horses and writing a book about it, teaching clinics around the world and building an equine education program called Pure Liberty, I have no regrets.

We all hope for a happy ending and I was on course, except for one thing, you can’t stop the march of time. With that natural passing comes change. The inevitable creeping of age. I felt my enthusiasm wane as tiredness set in. The goals I set for myself seemed insurmountable.

As I grew older and didn’t want to get hurt, I felt less inclined to climb on the back of young, or unpredictable horses. I began to feel a shift and I wasn’t sure I liked it.

I didn’t want to surrender, but knew I had to find a way to reframe how I would approach the later chapters of my life with horses.

This led me to create a formula for myself. I called it the WISE riders formula. It helped me immensely and now I find deep joy in sharing it with my students around the world.

And I remind myself that “Aging is a privilege denied to many”

I want to bring us later life riders together. To unite us, to share honestly, and together, to ride wisely through the years.

Will you join me?
